Climb High

He carried me away . . . to a great and high mountain. ~ Rev 21:10

Our world values climbing to new heights. Analogies such as “climbing the corporate ladder” or “reaching new heights” are common place when it comes to personal achievement.

We have posters on our cubicle walls that tell us to “achieve” or something that is supposed to encourage us to give 110% — even though to give more than 100% is impossible.

These words are meant to make us desire more and achieve more. Ultimately, they are psychological trickery meant to make us do everything to line our pockets with greenbacks, and fill our employers with even more.

Today’s devotional, “Climb High” – though it is motivational, it is no such trickery.

Everyone has felt alone in life. When a person considers how small they really are compared to the massive universe we inhabit, it is easy to lose sight of God. But then remember that He is watching you . . . and watching you individually.

You are never lost in the crowd from God’s sight. We, in turn, should be focusing our attention more on Him:

Christ’s people were never meant to live at the world’s sea-level. We are meant to have the mountain view, the long view, the wide view, the really understanding view. We are meant to see the happenings of our time in the light of inspired prophecy, through the eyes of the Holy Spirit, from the high view-point of the divine purpose, and with our gaze on the ultimate victory in Christ.

Today, my prayer for you and I is that we’ll be able to focus more on God through the reading and studying of His word and His affect on our lives.
