Holiness Unto the Lord

Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. ~ Leviticus 19:2

The middle book of the first five books in the Bible (all penned by Moses), is Leviticus. It is in this book that we are charged with the divine call to holiness. Part one (chapters 1-17) relates to the tabernacle and shows the way to God - by sacrifice. Part two (chapters 18-27) have to do with character and conduct and display the walk with God - by sanctification.

Baxter presents three reasons of evidence that we are to be holy. Ultimately, as covenant members of Christ, we are to become temples of the living God (I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19).

Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will be human sanctuaries of the Holy Spirit.
