The Privilege of the Three
March 12, 2007 at 8:00 am | In Awake My Heart | No CommentsHe was transfigured before them ~ Mark 9:2
Today’s devotion deals exclusively with the “Privilege of the Three” – the three being Peter, James and John. It also up the “Testimony of the Two” – the two being Moses and Elijah and the “Supremacy of the One” – the one obviously being Jesus Christ.
To get the full idea of this episode, I thought it would be prudent to first review more of Mark 9. Here are versus 2-4:
After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
It is during this episode that Peter, James and John were given and advance look into the coming kingdom of God. HOW FRIGGEN GREAT WOULD THAT BE?!?!?
Have you ever thought about what it will be like when you are finally home among your brothers and sisters who have gone before you? Have you ever wondered what it will be like to finally face your Father?
Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will remain consider this end-goal and share the Privilege with others.
