Easter Thursday: …and Peter

But go your way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into Galilee. ~ Mark 16:7

This is the restoring grace for backsliders.

Even when the resurrection morning brought its stunning gladness of glad surprise, Peter would find a gloomy cloud quenching the new sunrise. Even if Jesus had miraculously come badck to life, could He ever again reakon such a cursing traitor as His disciple?

Even the fearful backslider was among our Savior’s first thoughts and had given a special message to him. He has the same message for all the fearful Peter’s who have slipped in our worldliness.

Today, my prayer for you and I is that we may know the transforming power in our hearts, our dispositions and our characters. May it bring us into refining fellowship with God.
