In today’s world, we thrive of have things that are faster, bigger and better. Often, we seek to achieve these things while neglecting moral principale. After discussing this very fact, Baxter then makes the above statement.

We must be awakened to Jesus as our High Priest. As we seek to enter into holy fellowship with our Father, we must know that we are sinners. How then can we hold fellowship with the Father?

Let us meditate on these three versus with that goal in mind:

Hebrews 4:16 ~ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Ephesians 1: 17 ~ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
I John 2:1 ~ My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will look to Jesus as our High Priest - the One we have.
