No Other Rock

He shall glorify me. ~ John 16:14

The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus both IN and THROUGH every individual believer. This is two very different aspects.

First, He comes to glorify Jesus IN the believer. “It is the Holy Spirit who reveals to us all that we have in Christ, making Him real to us as Saviour, Friend, Sovereign, Bridegroom, Sanctifier, Enduer, Indweller and oh, so much more. Yes, He glorifies Jesus in us.”

Secondly, He glorifies Jesus THROUGH us, to others. “The saintly old Dr. F.B. Meyer used to say, ‘In all real believers Jesus is present. In some He is not only present, but prominent. In others, (all to [sic] few) He is no only present and prominent, He is pre-eminent.

Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will seek the Holy Spirit to imprint the likeness of Jesus upon our whole personalities.
