Cure for Depression
June 16, 2007 at 7:00 am | In Awake My Heart | No CommentsWhy art thou cast down, O my sou? and why art though disquited within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. ~ Psalm 42:11
In many Hebrew transcripts, Psalm 42 and 43 are thought of as a singular Psalm. When we review this portion of 42 and then go on to read 43, we can easily see how that is to be the case.
In 42, the author self-examines to ponder the source of the depression. The end of 43 offers and answer:
“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will put our hope in God.
